What's the Band's History?
Both Alan and Danny first played with Hawkwind at the Stonehenge Festival in 1984 and as a result went on to join the band on the successful ‘Chronicle of the Black Sword’ tour. The subsequent video release was voted the “third best live act and rock video” by Sounds in 1985. To date, Alan has spent over 16 years with Hawkwind, including playing on and writing many of the songs on 'Space Bandits' which was number one in Kerrang Magazine's indie rock chart for a Month. In between performing on many subsequent Hawkwind albums and touring with the band, he has also published around 90 songs, and has some solo albums to his credit. Danny is the son of Danny Thompson the world-renowned bassist, and has been guesting again with Hawkwind recently as their second drummer   more
What Does Bedouin Sound Like?
The band's unique sound comes from the combination of Danny's rock-jazz-tribal style, together with the powerful, driving guitar of Glenn and powerhouse vocals and bass of Ali. Added to this mix is a unique blend of beautifully interwoven keyboards and synth waveforms, which takes the listener to a state far beyond the realms of ‘traditional’ rock bands. All of this produces a high-energy, uplifting sound, which is extremely powerful, yet somehow manages to be subtly melodic.
