All ! - I`ve started getting a band together called "Artists
United" which will be a mix of all the bands i`m in past
and present. The set list will inc, songs from Bedouin,
Pre-Med,Gunslinger and my solo albums. It`ll kick some bottom
I can tell you!! Just started 2 new projects this week,one
with Bridget Wishart which will be a heavily arabic influenced
EP(4-5 trks).We both love arabic music so why not!Its also
great to be writing with B again! Another project i`ve been
Bassing/Synthing on with Bridegt is an album called "Earthborn"
by Spirits Burning&Bridget&is produced by Don Falcone.Other
musicians on this cd include, Daevid Allen(Gong),Simon House,
Steve Swindells, Jerry Richards (DanMingo),Richard Chadwick,
Jasper Pattison(Citizen Fish) and Trey Sabatelli (Jefferson
Starship).Its being mastered as i type by Paul Cobbold!
The 2nd project is an album of Lysergic horror soundtracks!
I`ve got lotsa this stuff in my Korg Wavestations but have
never used it in case it freaks people out! Via myspace.com/badacidmagazine
I`ve discovered there is a call for these soundscapes. I`ll
be doing this with Steve Smyth(The Duke Maker), who also
has a Korg WaveStation!Once finished we`ll be doing an exclusive
interview with badacidmagazine about the album with a few
funny/horror storys of our own to tell!! I`ve a great title
for this album which i`ll reveal later!! .
I`m also currently working on several projects one of which
is songs my cousin Nigel Potter and I wrote when we had
a band called Gunslinger. I`d have been 16-18years old,
so these were the first songs I ever wrote .We`ve done 8
of the tracks at present.There`s 4 more to do to complete
the album. And I`m very happy with how they`re sounding.
I always knew they were good songs! The ones we`ve done
so far are "Warhorse" "Blitzkreig Baby" "Cyanide" "Night
Song"
"Shellshocked", "Savage Love","Hymn of the Wild"and "If
the Bombs dont get ya,the Bullets Will!"Other songs on
the burner are "Don`t Need You","Speed Dream","Gunslinger
and"Going in for the Kill!" They`ve
an early Motorhead feel to them without ripping off their
riffs with the added bonus of harmony vocals! We`ve added
synth`s to some of the trks for texture and mood! The
2nd Pre-Med cd is finished.Its called "The Truth About
us".Definetly better than the 1st(and so it should be!)and
this one we`ve had mastered by Paul Cobbold!! Its due
out on Voiceprint Rec`s in Nov this year. I`m also having
a Bass Orgy (not literally) with a classical double bassist
called Karl Seigfried from Chicago. This could be a very
unusual cd and Boo Cook who does artwork for 2000AD and
Megazine has kindly offered to do the cover, check his
site www.boocook.com. And Karl has a myspace site also.
I`m half way though a new solo album, more news on that
later.
Also in the pipeline is a collaboration with Simon
House. I`ll enjoy this as Si and I get on like a House
on fire! HA!These songs are really happening,Simon`s violin
playing is superb on them as is the mellotron fingering!!!
Some titles we have so far are "Waste of space" "Angel
Down" "Cyberspace" "Ya know ya should".This will be released
under the name,"Artists United".More to cum!!! I`ll update
you as things progress.
